All men struggle, all men are vulnerable,
but most men struggle to be vulnerable.
Saving face rather than saving oneself:
The eternal dilemma of men
Men have difficulty expressing and admitting they are struggling.
This observation seems to belong to another generation and yet, it is still burning of topicality.
AVOID TALKING
ABOUT FEELINGS

STAY SILENT
MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
Suffering in silence puts our mental health at risk. We isolate ourselves; we don’t dare to look for help. The vicious cycle of anxiety and depression sets in motion, which can, in extreme situations, lead to suicide. We feel that the conception of masculinity has evolved, that we are offered other models than the hyper-virile schemes of the past. However, the suicide rate among men has never been so high.
How can you help?
Sometimes, big problems can be tackled with simple solutions. Decide for yourself how you want to support Movember and your friends.
"Finding ways to have men feel comfortable and capable in opening up about their emotional lives is fundamental to ensuring their wellbeing. We should be reframing vulnerability as a true act of courage for men, well within their grasp, not an exception, but the rule. That means though that our friends, families and communities have to be equally open and ready to listen when guys share what’s going on for them."
— Dr. Zac Seidler, Director of Mental Health Training, Movember.
Together, let’s give men the strength
to show their vulnerability
Let’s make this the generation
to no longer suffer in silence
5 years of partnering with Movember
This year L’Oréal Men Expert celebrates its 5-year partnership with Movember, the largest charity dedicated to tackling men’s health on a global scale. As November rolls around, Men Expert teams up with Movember to pick up the conversation about men’s mental health and shine a light on the struggles that men face. Men Expert has contributed 2.85M€ to the charity to date and pledges to get even more people talking using practical tools to ensure that no more men suffer in silence.
"At Movember, we are delighted to be celebrating the five-year anniversary of our partnership with L’Oréal Men Expert. As the world’s largest men’s health charity, we seek innovative partnerships to help us stop men dying too young. This partnership has helped us reach more men across the world, as well as funding vital health programmes which ensure together, we are having a long‑term positive impact on men’s mental health."
— Anne-Cecile Berthier, UK and Europe Director, Movember.
